O ex-presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva deixou, às 20h16, o Hospital Sírio-Libanês, em São Paulo, após a realização de exames que detectaram um tumor na laringe. Ele e sua mulher, Marisa Letícia, saíram por uma porta lateral do hospital em direção a São Bernardo do Campo, onde moram.
Lula começa a quimioterapia na segunda-feira (31). Os médicos optaram por esse tratamento para tentar preservar o órgão.
O tumor na laringe tem cerca de 3 cm, segundo a Folha apurou com médicos do hospital.
Segundo o médico oncologista Artur Katz, o tumor “não muito grande” foi descoberto na manhã de hoje. “As chances de cura são excelentes”, completou. Lula é ex-fumante e tinha o hábito de fumar cigarrilhas.
Katz informa que uma das causas importantes para o câncer na laringe é o fumo. Mas também existem causas virais e não é possível ainda dizer o que levou ao desenvolvimento do tumor de Lula.
Lula recebeu a visita do Ministro da Fazenda, Guido Mantega, que relatou tranquilidade do ex-presidente.
“Dona Marisa, Lula estão tranquilos, confiantes, porque o problema dele tem cura. Foi pego no início, então as perspectivas são boas.”
Na quinta-feira (27), Lula comemorou seu aniversário de 66 anos no instituto que leva seu nome. Em uma pequena cerimônia com funcionários, na sede da organização, em São Paulo, o ex-presidente ganhou um bolo.
