O prefeito de São José de Ribamar, Gil Cutrim (PMDB), foi eleito, nesta quarta-feira (20), presidente da Federação dos Municípios do Estado do Maranhão (FAMEM) para o biênio 2013/14.
Vice-presidente na gestão Júnior Marreca (Itapecuru), Gil Cutrim obteve 178 votos dos 184 eleitores que compareceram (foram registrados quatro votos em branco e dois nulos), a maior votação da história da entidade. A nova diretoria da Federação, que tomará posse no dia 27 deste mês, reúne prefeitos e prefeitas de todas as regiões maranhenses e das mais diversas colorações partidárias.
“A eleição de forma consensual mostra o amadurecimento dos prefeitos e prefeitas maranhenses que estão unidos com o objetivo de fortalecer, cada vez mais, o municipalismo no Maranhão”, afirmou Gil Cutrim, que figura como o primeiro prefeito da história de São José de Ribamar a exercer o comando da entidade que representa os municípios maranhenses.
A eleição teve início às 8h e foi encerrada pontualmente às 17h. Durante o dia, foi grande a movimentação de prefeitos e prefeitas que compareceram na sede da entidade, localizada no bairro Parque do Calhau, em São Luís, para exercer o direito do voto.
Para o prefeito de Imperatriz, Sebastião Madeira (PSDB), eleito para o cargo de diretor de representação em Brasília, Gil Cutrim terá todas as condições de realizar um bom trabalho, visto que, possui o apoio massivo dos prefeitos e prefeitas do Estado.
Após tomar conhecimento do resultado, Gil Cutrim reafirmou o seu compromisso de trabalhar para fortalecer os municípios maranhenses. Dentre as ações, ele destacou aproximar, ainda mais, as gestões municipais dos órgãos de controle externo, pondo fim ao estigma de que “estes órgãos apenas servem para punir” e defendendo a ideia de que tais órgãos podem, e devem, auxiliar os prefeitos na execução de administrações organizadas e transparentes; construção da sede própria da Federação; fortalecimento da unidade da FAMEM em Brasília como forma de prestar um serviço de melhor qualidade aos prefeitos; realização de seminários técnicos com o objetivo de orientar os gestores a promoverem administrações descentralizadas e totalmente voltadas para os anseios populares; implantação, na região Tocantina, de um núcleo da Federação; lutar, junto ao Governo Federal, para que os municípios maranhenses não continuem sendo penalizados com a diminuição de recursos oriundos de repasses do FPM e Fundeb; formalizar parcerias com os Governos do Estado e Federal no sentido de promover políticas públicas eficientes e necessárias em todos os municípios maranhenses; diálogo permanente com a classe política, em especial a bancada maranhense em Brasília, para que os interesses dos municípios maranhenses sejam atendidos junto ao Governo Federal; dentre outras.
