Ricardo Murad foi tão revoltado com o seu atual grupo político, que chegou a pedir que a população votasse em Jackson Lago ou Cafeteira, mas nem pensar em Roseana Sarney.
A briga foi tão grande que envolveu até o grande escalão do judiciário eleitoral maranhense. Ricardo acusou cinco juízes eleitorais de terem agido de má fé por ordem da família Sarney, e ainda chegou a afirmar que o empresário recém-investigado pela Polícia Federal, Fernando Sarney teria sido o responsável pela anulação de sua candidatura no Tribunal Regional Eleitoral (TRE) por 4 votos a 2.
